Description
Centered in the mid-thoracic column, the eighth thoracic vertebra (T8) is presented from an anterior perspective, with the vertebral body dominant and the intervertebral discs shown between adjacent levels. Smooth hyaline cartilage caps the superior and inferior endplates, forming the articulation surfaces for the T7–T8 and T8–T9 intervertebral discs. Along the posterolateral margins of the body, the costal demifacets for rib head articulation are implied, while the pedicles and the vertebral foramen sit posterior to the body and recede from direct view. A single vertebra is color-highlighted to localize the level within the twelve thoracic segments.
