Description
Posteriorly, the male lumbar spine is shown from L1 through L5 with the sacrum inferiorly, and L1 is distinguished from the remaining vertebrae by color. At L1, the hatchet-like spinous process projects posteriorly from the vertebral arch, flanked by the laminae and superior articular processes that sit superior to the L2 facets.
