Arising in the dura mater along the course of the middle meningeal artery (MMA), the middle meningeal veins run as paired venae comitantes that ascend from the infratemporal region toward the calvaria and spread over the lateral cranial vault. Their channels lie deep to the cranial bones and external to the arachnoid, tracking anteriosuperiorly across the temporal and parietal regions where they communicate with adjacent dural venous sinuses. Blue venous pathways are presented in relation to cortical sulci and gyri, with larger midline drainage routes consistent with the superior sagittal sinus positioned superiorly and medially.
