Description
Emerging from the central retinal artery at the optic disc, the superior nasal retinal arteriole courses superiorly and medially across the fundus, supplying the inner retinal layers on the nasal (toward the nose) side of the superior retina. From an anterior viewpoint aligned with the orbit, its arc is appreciated relative to the optic nerve head posteriorly and the nasal side of the globe medially, with smaller arteriolar branches tapering as they extend toward the retinal periphery.
