Anteriorly, the lower uterine segment relates to the vesicouterine reflection of peritoneum and the superior surface of the urinary bladder, while posteriorly it faces the rectouterine pouch region. The endometrial cavity tapers as it approaches this level, approaching the internal uterine os, with the uterine walls converging medially around the canal. A subtle constriction point.
