Anterior uterine contour is presented with the fundus superiorly, the corpus uteri forming the central mass, and the cervix tapering inferiorly toward the cervical tip. The vesical surface (facies vesicalis) faces anteriorly and would lie immediately posterior to the urinary bladder in situ, while the lateral uterine borders sweep inferomedially toward the cervix. Proportional relationships between fundus, body, and cervix are emphasized rather than internal cavity landmarks. No cut surface is implied. For pelvic anatomy teaching, the anterior aspect matters because it frames the uterovesical interface, a common site of adhesions and surgical dissection. During cesarean delivery and many hysterectomy approaches, the vesicouterine peritoneal reflection is developed and the bladder is mobilized inferiorly off the anterior cervix and lower uterine segment; appreciating the external uterine profile helps anticipate that plane and its variation with uterine size.
