Description
Positioned within the mid thoracic kyphosis, the T7 vertebra is highlighted against adjacent thoracic levels in a lateral view of the vertebral column. The vertebral body lies anteriorly, while the pedicles, laminae, and spinous process form the posterior elements, framing the vertebral canal posterior to the body. Superior and inferior endplates are separated from neighboring vertebrae by intervertebral discs, rendered as blue cushions that maintain spacing and contribute to the regional curvature. Costal facets associated with the thoracic vertebrae are implied at the posterolateral margins where ribs articulate, even if not individually emphasized. T7 sits near the level of the inferior angle of the scapula and often functions as a practical surface landmark when counting thoracic levels for procedures or image correlation.
