Description
Centered within an upright female skeleton in anatomical position, the radius is highlighted along the lateral (thumb-side) aspect of the forearm, running parallel to the ulna on the medial side from elbow to wrist. Proximally, the radial head sits inferior to the lateral epicondyle of the humerus at the radiocapitellar joint, while the radial tuberosity lies just distal and medial to the neck as the biceps brachii insertion. Distally, the broad metaphysis expands toward the carpus, ending at the radial styloid process lateral to the ulnar head, with the interosseous border facing medially toward the interosseous membrane.
