Description
Cut through the anterior chest wall, the mammary gland is shown embedded in subcutaneous adipose tissue, with lobules arranged around branching lactiferous ducts that converge toward the nipple-areolar complex. A superficial venous plexus courses within the fibrous stroma and along Cooper’s ligaments, collecting blood from venules draining the lobular parenchyma and ductal system.
