Arising as the rounded superior pole of the uterus, the uterine fundus lies above the level of the tubal ostia and continues inferiorly into the uterine body at the anatomic constriction where the contour becomes more cylindrical. Laterally, the uterine horns mark the transition toward the uterine tubes, while the broad ligament attaches along the lateral uterine margin just inferior to the fundal dome. From an external surface perspective, the serosa (perimetrium) covers the fundus and reflects onto the adnexal folds at the uterine cornua. A smooth landmark. Fundal morphology matters in day to day gynecology because it anchors obstetric examination and many procedural trajectories.
